Amazon Rating

“It’s TKO (TKL style) with no numpad and a very shrunken down and frees up a lot of space for mousing. It’s nice that there is so much more space to move the mouse around.

– toOpink

The compact style makes my desk and set up feel clean and spacious. All the extra keys are there by using the FN key and the reprogrammable keyboard works really well for customization.”

FAQs

Which Kinesis keyboard is right for me?

All Kinesis keyboards are backed by the same ergonomic design principles. Which one is right for you depends on several factors.

The Freestyle2 is our most popular ergonomic keyboard. It features a split-adjustable design and modular accessories to make it affordable and versatile. It comes in a variety of layouts (US and European), configurations (9″ and 20″ separation), connections (USB and Bluetooth wireless) and can even be ordered pre-assembled with our most popular tenting accessories.

The Advantage2 is our flagship keyboard and has been the choice of ergonomic enthusiasts for 25 years. If you need a powerful tool and are willing to invest as little as one week to learn the contoured layout, then it will reward you with incredible comfort and significant productivity boosts. The Advantage2 boasts mechanical switches, onboard programmability with our new SmartSet Engine, and it’s designed to work on all major operating systems.

The Freestyle Pro is our newest ergonomic keyboard. It takes our award-winning Freestyle split-adjustable design (and modular tenting accessories), and adds two premium features from the Advantage2: 1) the new SmartSet Programming Engine for powerful configurability and 2) Cherry mechanical key switches for a premium typing feel and durability. The Freestyle Pro is a great choice for those looking to upgrade from a Freestyle2, or those not quite ready to make the leap to the Advantage2.

The Freestyle Edge RGB is the “big brother” to the Freestyle Pro keyboard. It adds per-key RGB backlighting and cushioned palm supports for an even more premium typing experience. *Note: Mac keycaps are sold separately for the RGB, and the RGB model is not offered with “quiet” Cherry MX Red switches.

The TKO is an ultra-compact keyboard with unique ergonomic features. What the TKO lacks in adjustability it makes up for in portability. If you are a current 60% keyboard user looking for something more ergonomic the TKO was made especially for you. With zero-degree slope and a programmable triple space bar the TKO unlocks the true potential of the standard 60% layout.

How long does it take to adapt to the TKO?

The TKO is easy to adapt to

The TKO features a completely standard layout. To save space lesser used keys are moved to the “embedded” layer and accessed with the Fn key. Sophisticated users will recognize the potential to remap the Fn action to one or two of the triple space bar keys for improved layer-shifting with their thumbs.

Which color key switch is right for me?

The Brown mechanical key switches are the most popular choice

If you have never used a mechanical keyboard before you will likely find that the typing feel of the Brown and Red switches are very similar. Both switches have a low activation force and great typing feel. If you prefer a clicky switch opt for the Box White (similar to the Cherry MX Blue switch). If you want soomething different, you’re in luck. The TKO is a hotswap keyboard meaning that you can remove the switches and install your own using the included switch removal tool.

What’s the big deal about mechanical keyboards.

How should I use tenting on the TKO?

Tenting is designed for one-handed keyboard use only

Unlike our lineup of split-adjustable Freestyle keyboards, the TKO can only tent in one-direction at a time. Raise the right side when you are exclusively keyboarding with your left-hand (like in gaming), or raise the left side when you are exclusively keyboarding with your right hand (like during data entry). Want to type all the time in a tenting orientation, then consider the Freestyle or Advantage lineup of keyboards.
